他们都是我的发小。当我决定去那里拍摄这样一个影片时，我就已经决定拍摄这些人。当初我设想的是拍我的发小、同学。但我很快发现其中老赵的变化很大，在他身上集中了体现了我当时隐约的感受：关于“三线”、青春的那个时代过去了。“故事”是在后期剪辑中形成的。
我现在很难回忆当初的体验，此刻如果我描述它，难免带着我现在的观念去“阐述”，很显然这是一种虚假。《海石湾》是我第一部影片。在我曾熟悉的地方拍那些熟悉的人，它非常自然，我可能很难再在这种“自然”状态下拍摄影片了。我只能说很幸运，捕捉到了我想表达的东西。当然有些遗憾是必然的。
它带给我的感受，就是现在依然坚持的关于拍摄纪录片的一个“观念”——你是什么样的人，做什么样的影片。无论你花多长时间，你也不可能成为被拍摄者一样的人。尊重他人，尽量保持理智。拍不到的远远多于你的感受，你只能努力让拍到的“故事”成立。纪录片是作者与被拍摄者“共同”完成的。不要太在乎自我的表达，尽量去平衡作品的边界。
拍人，这个是明确的。如果你留意，这部影片在4:3的构图里，差不多每组镜头都有老赵。现在我可能不会这么绝对了，但我希望现在仍然能像在《海石湾》里做到的——有感情地去拍。在纪录片里你必须和被拍摄者建立信任，我个人无法回避这种信任带来的感情色彩。我希望不要以太职业的态度去对待这种情感。
影片的结构是后来剪辑架构出来的，它并没有特别设计，可用的素材也不允许有太多的考虑。剪辑时有种情感始终贯穿其间，这是我最深的体会，它也是拍我自己。《海石湾》的完成就是我与过去结束的一个时间点。
这部片是我现在每次放映都能从头看完的一部片，其它片很难有这种体验。我不想再动一帧，不是说它完美了。但我现在挺珍惜这个片体现出的一些缺点，它为我后来的作品避免了一些错误，使我更有耐心。它“待”在那里，就会提醒我，如何去对待你的被拍摄者——像尊重老赵一样尊重我的每一个拍摄者。有时很难，但这种参照是非常清晰的。
那些个人对电影认识的直觉，会在以后的“职业化”中慢慢消失，而这种直觉是最鲜活的，你的方法、观念都在镜头里，它骗不了人。我希望保持这种个人化的直觉拍摄我的作品。《海石湾》是我对电影或者说影像认识的第一次实践，我仍能从我现在其他的作品里看到最初我做这个事的影子——对纪录片的理解与方法，包括那些错的和对的认识。它成为你现在的经验。你不能让过去的事物变得更好。我们做的永远是“现在”。（摘选）

在老赵看似无序的生活中却透出无法选择自己命运的无奈。春节来了，老赵似乎要做某种选择，但个人的局限与现实制约，使老赵内心深处充满挣扎。
这个从父母年轻时就奋斗过的地方，却没有给他任何生活的希望。面对曾经的理想与现实困境，夹在社会街头生活与内心对生活最后的一丝渴望中，老赵陪母亲走完背离故乡的一生最后时光，离开了生长的地方——海石湾。
二代的三线人老赵们似乎也随着的时代变革象父辈一样消失在历史的洪流里。

MaZhandong, independent documentary producer, who has filmed and produced tens ofdocumentary films long and short. His works have been screened on filmfestivals in Germany、Netherlands、Iceland 、Denmark、France、Japan、Hongkong and etc. At the same time, he hasbeen creating short art films and vedios. He is interviewedby ARTE(France) at2009. He serves respectively as the final film Juror for the 14th BeijingIndependent Film Exhibition in China and the shortlist juror for the 12th FIRSTYouth Film Exhibition.
His work“One Day in May”wins the best ducomentary award in 2011 of The ChineseDocumentary Festival (Hong Kong).
“LaoZhao”wins the Documentary humanitarian award of the 12 th China IndependentFilm Festival. “Everybody is Nobody” wins the 33th ATP Award forExcellence(Tokyo).
Now he isliving and working in Chengdu China.

BUSH DEFINITION is a Chengdu-based organization aimed to popularize the indie culture, established in April, 2011. The organization aims to find, integrate and spread the distinctive indie culture through various ways, including exhibitions, screenings, salons, publications and so on.
