Luisa Cevese is a self-taught designer based in Milano.
She began designing textiles for fashion and interiors in 1984, providing services for companies such as Hermès, Chanel, Comme des Garçons among others.
In 1996 she founded Luisa Cevese Riedizioni, a design studio where she re-appropriates production leftovers and used materials to create an original and innovative fabric, suitable to be cut into-one-of-a kind bags, accessories and home products. All pieces are hand-made in Italy.
Luisa Cevese Riedizioni collection is sold in fashion and design stores, contemporary art museum stores, and galleries around the world. It is amusing to mention that Luisa Cevese Riedizioni’s first client was Joyce Ma (The founder of fashion boutique JOYCE) in Hong Kong. In an industry just starting to be more eco-friendly, Luisa appears as a real pioneer with 25 year experience in the field.

“I love waste, working with waste” says Luisa Cevese. Working for so many years in the textile industry in Italy, she witnessed the amount of silk or other luxury fabric leftovers in the manufacturing of high luxury garments. People have always used waste to make beautiful things. Rag rugs and patchwork quilts are very good examples for it!
One day she was invited with other designers by the Association of Plastic Manufacturers (AssoPlast) which was interested in exploring ways to use recycled plastic (in the form of granules from melted plastic garbage). From that moment on, she thought about combining silk leftovers from luxury silk manufacturers in Como and recycled plastic and polyurethane so as to create a long lasting and unique fabric which could be transformed in fashionable bags or accessories. The process is very low tech and mostly handmade.
Around 1999 she started to use textiles and rugs which were too damaged to be repaired and not old enough to be collectors' pieces but whose beauty lied into old yarns with natural dyes.
For TempleHui, Luisa has created a bag and accessory collection created around indigo used fabric from Japan. Each piece is unique, artfully composed and long lasting. The collection has pieces for both men and women.

Each piece is unique and hand made in Italy in a sustainable production where human being, not used as a machine, enjoys the presence of the moment being.
Industry creates an enormous amount of waste.
This waste is our basic element.
