Solar eclipses happen when the sun goes behind the moon. This makes it darker during the day, but only for a few minutes. Eclipses don’t happen very often. A place on Earth gets an eclipse once every four hundred years. Be careful because looking at the sun isn’t safe . You must wear special glasses or make a “pinhole viewer.”
