Hello guys, I’m Yves from East-Africa, Currently I’m a student at SNU and a cameraman at Wuxu.

Here is my experience with filming.

At the end of October 2019, Mr. LYG told me about his plan of shooting an independent film and he said I should help him. I said, sure why not if I can I smile. That time I did not know about the help he was talking about, later he sent me a message on WeChat saying the shooting is around the corner, I should get to prepare, then I asked him what kind of help he needs.

Unexpectedly he said I should help him to take video. oh, I do not have any idea about filming man, I replied. However LYG keeps encouraging me that I can make it, then my inner voice talks to me, was like why can’t you believe yourself, why can you miss this opportunity? After a small conversation, I said yes.

Left 3 days to go, LYG brings a camera and gimbal stabilizer and I started to practice.

Finally the time for shooting come, I went to Taiping, the place was quite silent, and beautiful but also freezing it was wintertime, we started to arrange the things for the first scene, then we started shooting “ Far away in the mountains, The sound of the engine”. It was not easy atall I hadn’t any experience. Director LYG also was the first time shooting an independent movie, we meet a lot of problems, sometimes we had to re-shoot the scene multiple times, hit the hand with hummer while fixing some stuff for decoration, etc. But all these difficulties make us stronger, gave us more experience and I should say that was the beginning now we are ready to produce a much more interesting film.
