莫里哀（Molière，1622年1月15日—1673年2月17日），本名让·巴蒂斯特·波克兰（Jean Baptiste Poquelin），法国喜剧作家、演员、戏剧活动家。法国芭蕾舞喜剧的创始人。莫里哀是他的艺名，法语意为长春藤。代表作品有《无病呻吟》《伪君子》《悭吝人》等。 

1622年出生，生于巴黎一个具有“王室侍从”身份的宫廷室内陈设商家庭，父亲是挂毯商和宫廷室陈设商。1644年，取艺名为莫里哀。1645－1658年，带领剧团在法国外省各地巡回演出。1652年以后，莫里哀成为剧团的负责人，并开始创作剧本。1655年，在里昂上演了他的诗体喜剧《冒失鬼》。1658年10月24日，莫里哀剧团应召来巴黎，在卢浮宫为路易十四演出，得到赏识。1659年11月18日，《可笑的女才子》上演，这是在巴黎创作的第yi个剧本。1662年，莫里哀与比他小20岁的阿尔芒德结婚。1664年开始，莫里哀的喜剧创作进入了全盛时期，创作了除《伪君子》（又译作《达尔杜弗》）外，《唐·璜》《恨世者》《悭吝人》和《乔治·唐丹》等。1673年2月17日的晚上去世。

Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (15 January 1622 (baptised) – 17 February 1673), known by his stage name Molière (was a French playwright, actor, and poet, widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in the French language and world literature. His extant works include comedies, farces, tragicomedies, comédie-ballets, and more. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed at the Comédie-Française more often than those of any other playwright today.[4] His influence is such that the French language is often referred to as the "language of Molière".
