赫伯特·乔治·威尔斯（Herbert George Wells，1866年9月21日—1946年8月13日），又译作赫伯特·乔治·韦尔斯，英国知名小说家，新闻记者、政治家、社会学家和历史学家。他创作的科幻小说对该领域影响深远，如“时间旅行”、“外星人入侵”、“反乌托邦”等都是20世纪科幻小说中的主流话题。

1895年出版《时间机器》一举成名，随后又发表了《莫洛博士岛》《隐身人》《星际战争》等多部科幻小说。他还是一位社会改革家和预言家，曾是费边社的重要成员，会晤过罗斯福和斯大林，撰写了《基普斯》《托诺－邦盖》《波里先生和他的历史》《勃列林先生看穿了他》《恩惠》《预测》《世界史纲》等大量关注现实，思考未来的作品。
