The Billecart family has lived in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ since the 16th century, Pierre Billecart was the Parliamentary Counsellor to Louis XIII. Today, Billecart-Salmon is managed by Mathieu and Antoine Roland-Billecart, who represent the seventh and eighth generation of their family. The Billecart-Salmon house style is one of great finesse and poise, and while the wines not only carry their fair share of power and depth, this is always allied with an aristocratic elegance and crystalline clarity. This elegance places Billecart high among Champagne’s finest houses.
