Suzanne Collins (August 10, 1962 -) is an American female television screenwriter and novelist. Her most famous work is the "Hunger Games" series. The youth adventure science fiction novel "The Hunger Games", published in August 2008, has been on the New York Times bestseller list for more than 100 consecutive weeks. The book was adapted into a movie of the same name by film director Gary Ross, "The Hunger Games", which was released in March 2012. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth starred in it. The global box office was 690 million US dollars, of which the North American box office was as high as 408 million. Later, several sequels were produced.

In 2019, the author announced that the prequel to "The Hunger Games" would be released in May 2020. The story revolves around the life story of President Snow before the trilogy. In October 2019, the title was released as "The Hunger Games Prequel: The Song of Songbirds and Snakes".
