In the glass, Domaine Thénard’s Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru displays a light red color, with a garnet-hued gradient along the edges. Give the glass a gentle swirl, and you’ll notice the wine’s first-class balance in its legs—neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls.
On the nose, this Domaine Thénard red wine reveals a rich array of aromas, including various blackcurrants, black cherries, plums, mulberries, and blackberries. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an extremely silky and fleshy texture, with a long finish that sees faint notes of plums and black cherries re-emerging.
In the winemaking process, grapes are quickly transported to the winery after harvesting, where they are carefully sorted and selected. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures. This wine pairs perfectly with roasted pumpkin gratin, spinach gratin with almonds, or vegetable casserole with pesto.
