Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Online courses will  
one day replace traditional classes.  
Personally, I would say it is not possible for online courses to be the mainstream approach to  
teaching lessons. Even though online education and tutoring are very popular recently, I still  
doubt the efficiency of having classes online. To begin with, there is no direct interaction between  
teachers and students. Actually, face-to-face discussions and even debates should be indispensable  
parts of a class. Unfortunately, these cannot be achieved online. Additionally, teachers cannot tell  
whether the students can follow them closely or not. Thus, they might not be able to adjust the  
pace and level of difficulty of their class. That will jeopardize the efficiency of the class.  
Some people prefer to live in old buildings while others prefer to live in new  
and modern buildings. Which do you prefer and why?  
Personally, I would say I’d like to live in a modern building. Even though the historical  
buildings with different architectural styles are very appealing, I think it is pretty scary to live  
there since it might be haunted. A modern building is more comfortable to live in since it has  
lots of modern facilities like big glass windows, making it easier for the sunlight to get in. If  
you happen to live in a tall modern building, you will get a chance to appreciate the view of  
the whole city at night. It will be awesome. Based on these reasons, I would rather live in a  
modern building  
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Kids should have  
access to news at an early age.  
Well, I would say it is important for kids to get to know news happening around the country  
and the globe. First off, it can help them get to know different cultures, languages and  
customs. Getting access to news will broaden their horizons and help them be exposed to  
new perspectives. Additionally, having access to news helps kids appreciate life more and  
not take things for granted. You know, kids will know that there are lots of unlucky kids in the  
places that are torn by wars. These poor kids don’t even have enough nutrition for proper body  
function, let alone their education.  
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should gain  
access to computers and other electronic devices as early as possible.  
Personally, I don’t think it is a good idea to allow kids to use computers and other electronic  
devices. First off, there is too much negative information that has huge impact on kids’  
psychological development like porn, violence and stuff like that. Also, lots of kids get addicted  
to playing on-line games, leaving them no time to focus on their schoolwork. Spending too  
much time in front of the computer can pose a threat to kids’ health. It leads to neck problems,  
nearsightedness, backache, and even child obesity.
