Like a visit to a cabinet of curiosities, this catalogue shows extraordinary works of art from the collections of the 14 Dresden art museums. This selection of some one hundred singular and remarkable objects from the 16th to the 21st century highlights the various links between Europe and the rest of the world. Indeed, the unique collections of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden are an excellent demonstration of the role of art in the dialogue between cultures.
