Trilogy is Jon Fosse's critically acclaimed, luminous love story about Asle and Alida, two lovers trying to find their place in this world. Homeless and sleepless, they wander around Bergen in the rain, trying to make a life for themselves and the child they expect. Through a rich web of historical, cultural, and theological allusions, Fosse constructs a modern parable of injustice, resistance, crime, and redemption.

Consisting of three novellas (Wakefulness, Olav's Dreams, and Weariness), Trilogy is a haunting, mysterious, and poignant evocation of love, for which Fosse received The Nordic Council's Prize for Literature in 2015.

约恩·福瑟，挪威当代作家。约恩·福瑟出生于1959年挪威西海岸文化名城卑尔根以南的小镇豪格松德。从1983年起开始出版作品。其作品已被译成四十多种文字。福瑟也是全世界作品被搬演众多的剧作家之一，大约已有1000台以他的作品为蓝本的话剧在全球各地上演。福瑟的作品，都以新挪威语写作而成。

Jon Fosse was born in 1959 on the west coast of Norway and is the recipient of countless prestigious prizes, both in his native Norway and abroad. Since his 1983 fiction debut, Raudt, svart [Red, Black], Fosse has written prose, poetry, essays, short stories, children’s books, and over forty plays, with more than a thousand productions performed and translations into fifty languages. His most recent publication in English is Scenes from a Childhood, a collection of short prose published in November 2018 by Fitzcarraldo Editions.
