本书是一本全英文中国民法教材，系统介绍了我国民法的基本理念和基本制度。全书遵循我国《民法典》所采用的“先总则、后分编”的编纂体例，对中国民法的基本原则、法律渊源、法律适用以及民事法律关系等基础概念进行全面阐述，同时也介绍了代理、诉讼时效等基本制度，旨在帮助学生构建对中国民法基础理论的整体认识。

本书主要适用于法学专业的来华留学生，也可作为国内法学专业学生的辅助读物，并适合对中国民法感兴趣的其他读者参考使用。

西南政法大学民商法学院副教授、硕士生导师；西南政法大学和英国牛津大学联合培养博士，加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学访问学者，美国伊利诺伊大学香槟分校博士后。兼任中国法学会婚姻家庭法学研究会会员、国际家庭法协会会员、中国卫生法学会会员、中国医院协会医疗法制专业委员会委员。担任部分SSCI期刊外审编辑，《人口与计划生育法》修正案及配套法规研究专家课题组骨干成员，重庆市一流课程婚姻家庭法学、继承法学教学团队和重庆市“课程思政”示范课程“婚姻家庭法学”教学团队骨干成员，重庆市2019年来华留学全英文授课品牌课程建设项目负责人。获得首届西南政法大学122人才工程“教学新秀”奖（2019年）。

主要研究方向为婚姻家庭法、医事法、弱势群体权益保障。出版多部专著、译著；在国内外核心期刊发表论文多篇；主持并参研国家*、省部级课题十余项。
