This wine is ruby garnet in color. There is an intensely perfumed nose characteristic coming from this unique vineyard. Aromas of aniseed, cherries, roses and ripe plums give way to an elegant, mineral character on the palate. The tannins are sweet, concentrated and powerful, with a hint of cinnamon to lift the tightly-packed, smoky fruit. Long and perfumed to the end, it shows liquorice and rose petal notes on the finish.

Aldo
Conterno was the son of Giacomo Conterno who found the homonymic
winery Giacomo Conterno and truly shaped the history of winemaking in
Barolo. The Conterno family has been making wine in Monforte since at
least the 1700s.
After
Aldo had been worked with his brother Giovanni together for their
family winery for many years, he started to establish the business of
his own, he bought "FAVOT" estate and founded the "PODERI ALDO
CONTERNO" winery in 1969.

The roots of the family stretch deep into the history of the region. They have been producing wine near the Monforte d’Alba village since the 19th century. It starts in the 19th century, when the forefathers of Aldo Conterno emigrated to Argentina.
