Marc Chagall (1887-1985), a true multidisciplinary genius and internationally renowned artist, successfully explored a wide range of techniques: painting, sculpture, pastels, mosaics, stained glass... His entire body of work is imbued with his personal history, as well as biblical references, fairy tales, and dreams, whose interpretations can be multiple. The majority of his works are preserved at the Marc Chagall National Museum in Nice, a true showcase built during the artist's lifetime under the impetus of André Malraux to house the donation made by the painter to the French State. The heart of the museum consists of the seventeen monumental works that form the cycle devoted to the Biblical Message. The museum has also benefited from the deposit of numerous masterpieces, and with the support of Chagall's heirs, new acquisitions have enriched the collections.
