Henrik Wieniawski was not only one of the most important violinists of the 19th century, but he also wrote tailor-made performance pieces for his instrument - thus making some outstanding contributions to the repertoire. In his Serzo Tarantella, he seemed unable to decide whether to write about a classically understated serzo or an unrestrained Italian folk dance. He therefore chose a double title, thus appropriately capturing the unique character of this fascinating piece. Our edition contains the original fingering and bowing detailed in the first version.
