Have you ever met a student who has a hard time organizing themselves, or has dificulty understanding why they didn’t get a good grade, despite putting in a lot of time and efort? This student may need support to develop their metacognition. Metacognition, or “thinking about thinking”, refers to how we understand what we know and the way we learn. When students develop their metacognition, they become more aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and learn how to more efectively plan, monitor and reflect upon their learning, helping them to become independent, confident and engaged learners
