Les Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru spans 15 hectares, jointly owned by the Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny appellations—with Morey-Saint-Denis holding just 1.5 hectares. The vineyard is divided into two distinct parts: the upper section features white chalky soil rich in limestone, while the lower part consists of red clay-limestone soil.
In its early years, the wine is frank and robust. It requires time to reveal its finesse, gradually unfurling aromas of sandalwood, vanilla, and cocoa, occasionally accented with floral notes such as rosebud and lilac. "A giant."
