   In Chapter 1， the commonly used adsorbents for air purification and the adsorption theories are introduced. An extended Langmuir for predicting the multilayer adsorption is discussed in Chapter 2， which can be used to describe both the Type II isotherm of water vapor and the Type I isotherm of carbon dioxide. In Chapter 3， the mathematical model of temperature swing adsorption and numerical simulations of an industrial-scale air prepurification unit are presented. In Chapter 4， the operating strategies of air pre-purification units are presented and discussed. In Chapter 5， a three-bed temperature swing adsorption process for recovering and reusing the waste heat of an air pre-purification unit is designed and numerically studied. In Chapter 6， to validate the aforementioned three-bed temperature swing adsorption process， the adsorbent beds regenerated by the clean and used purge gas heating are comparatively studied.
