芙烈达·卡萝（Frida Kahlo，1907年7月6日－1954年7月13日），墨西哥女画家，以自画像著名，许多画作受到墨西哥自然及文化的影响。本名是Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo y Calderón，她出生在墨西哥城南部的科约阿坎街区。父亲是德裔犹太画家与摄影师，家族来自罗马尼亚的奥拉迪亚（二战前是匈牙利属地）。芙烈达之夫为著名墨西哥画家迪亚哥·利弗拉，

芙烈达·卡萝声称她是在1910年7月7日出生，但她的出生证明上是写1907年7月6日。芙烈达·卡萝可能是希望她的出生年份和墨西哥革命开始的年份一様，因此她可以和现代的墨西哥一起诞生。芙烈达的作品将墨西哥描绘成是美洲原住民传统的象征，身为女性主义者，芙烈达也毫不妥协的描述女性的经验。

6岁时芙烈达感染了小儿麻痺，造成了她右腿比左腿为短，也许因为如此，她经常著长裙。（另有臆测她患有脊柱裂的先天疾病，而导致脊椎与腿部的发育问题，小儿麻痹只是使她腿部问题更为明显而已）。18岁那年的秋天（1925年9月18日），芙烈达出了严重的车祸，造成下半身行动不便，而且影响日后怀孕的可能性。即使一年多后恢复了行走的能力，她仍深受车祸后遗症的痛楚，一生中经过多达三十五次的手术，最终右腿膝盖以下还是必须截肢。芙烈达在苦痛中用绘画来转移注意力，画出了许多她对于病痛的感受和想像，她的作品经常充满了隐喻、具象的表征、让观者震惊于一个女人所承受的各种痛苦。她毕生的画作中有55%是一幅又一幅的、支离破碎的自画像（如器官分离、开刀、心脏等具体的表征、代表画家的痛苦），此外，芙烈达也深受墨西哥文化的影响，她经常使用明亮的热带色彩、採用了写实主义和象征主义的风格。

由于车祸的后遗症，芙烈达和其他人是隔离的，这种隔绝也影响到她的作品，其中许多是她的自画像，芙烈达说：「我画自画像，因为我常独处，也因为我是我自己最了解的主题。」她也曾说过：「I was born a b*tch. I was born a painter.」。
