Nestled in the Mittelmosel River Valley, the legendary German vineyard Joh. Jos. Prüm produces Rieslings with delicate fruit flavors. Prüm family has garnered a reputation for high quality wines as early as the 19th century. Built by Jodocus Prüm, two of the vineyards, Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich, both named after the sundial in respective namesake villages (a device to tell time) in each site, are at the heart of the estate.

普朗酒庄（Joh. Jos. Prüm, 通常被称为“J.J.P.”/“J.J.Prüm”）位于摩泽尔河谷中部，大约在北纬50度，即世界上最北部的葡萄酒种植区之一。因此葡萄树有一个很长的生长期，有时会到11月甚至12月才采收，这种相对凉爽的气候条件，使雷司令葡萄有足够长的时间发展出各种香气，典型的有水果，花卉和草药的香味，保持较高的酸度并从板岩土壤中吸收矿物质香气。为了平衡这种酸度，葡萄中天然的糖份通常不会完全发酵成酒精，而是会保留一定的残糖到最终的酒液中。这种酿造方法加上凉爽的气候条件（导致葡萄中天然的糖分含量较低），使得酒精的含量也非常低。

今天的庄园占地约22公顷（约55英亩），葡萄园种植了100%的雷司令——大部分是未嫁接的老藤。葡萄园位于摩泽尔中部地区的最佳地段：韦恩日晷园（Wehlener Sonnenuhr）、仙境园（Graacher Himmelreich）、泽汀根日晷园（Zeltinger Sonnenuhr）、温泉园（Bernkasteler Badstube）。普朗酒庄的目标是在每一个年份的葡萄酒中尽可能真实地表达土壤和气候条件。理想的采收时间、尽可能少的酒窖处理、原生酵母的使用和相当晚的装瓶是我们葡萄酒的特点，这些葡萄酒需要时间来绽放，从而得到果味、矿物质、酸度和低酒精度的完美平衡。普朗酒庄的葡萄酒以其陈年潜力、保持新鲜和年轻的能力以及丰富的表现力、复杂度和清澈度而闻名。

The Joh. Jos. Prüm (often referred to as “J.J.P.” or “J.J.Prüm”) estate is located at the Mittelmosel River Valley at around 50 degrees north latitude, making it one of the most northerly vineyards. As a result, grape vines here enjoy a longer growing period and late harvest until November or sometimes even December. Relatively cool weather also helps Riesling grapes to develop various aromas, typically fruity, floral and herbal, high acidity and mineral aromas absorbed from the slate soil. Natural sugar contained in the grape is not fully converted into ethanol during fermentation. Instead, part of it is retained in the wine to balance out its racy acidity. Cool fermentation makes the wine low in alcohol (as the level of natural sugar in grape is low). 

The estate has about 22 hectares (55 acres) of holdings nowadays. Only Riesling is grown and harvested at these sites, of which the majority have ungrafted old vines. All the vineyards enjoy prime location in Mittelmosel, including Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher Himmelreich, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr and Bernkasteler Badstube. The mission of J.J.P. is to translate soil conditions and weather conditions of each vintage into its wines. The secret is to harvest during ideal period, keep fermentation uninterrupted  and use native yeast during fermentation and bottle wines late. To strike a perfect balance, it takes time for these wines to age properly and develop its fruity, mineral notes and have low acidity and low ABV. J.J.P’s Rieslings are marked by longevity, freshness, youth, expressive notes, complexity and clarity.

Apart from its two core vineyards, Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich, the estate is also home to two other outstanding vineyards, Bernkasteler Badstube and Zeltinger Sonnenuhr. Situated on the other side of the bank facing the main building of the estate is an impressive long slope. On top of it are four terraced vineyards adjacent to each other like an amphitheater. The Zeltinger Sonnenuhr vineyard is in the most northernly site and directly borders the northern edge of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Graacher Himmelreich directly borders the southern edge of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, while Bernkasteler Badstube is located in the most southernly site. The history of these three vineyards, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich dates back to centuries ago. The Prüms purchased Bernkasteler Badstube in 1928.
