For centuries, Bordeaux has been a famous wine producing region in France. As modern winemaking technology has improved and consumers' preferences for red wines have grown, the so-called "Bordeaux-style blends" have swept the world. These blended red wines may include wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot as the main grapes and Malbec and Carmenère as the secondary grapes.

In Bordeaux, the blending styles of the left bank of the Garonne River and the right bank are not the same. At the tasting, you will discover the strong styles of left-bank wines such as Saint-Estèphe, Margaux, Pessac-Leognan, Haut-Medoc dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and the more delicate blends from right-bank such as the Pomerol dominated by Merlot and St-Émilion.

The so-called "Super Tuscana", memorable Bordeaux-style wines from Central Italy, have enriched the worldwide by offering the Bordeaux-style blends. This tasting will include three very fine Bordeaux-style wines from Ornellaia estate, Italy, namely: Merlot-based wines from Barone Ricasoli IGT classification, on a par with the Ridge Estate Merlot, which gained worldwide fame at a Paris wine concourse overnight at 1976!
