This book is a new edition of Volumes 3 and 4 of Walter Thirring's famous textbook on mathematical physics. 作者简介

沃尔特·瑟林博士教授，生于1927年。 普林斯顿高级研究所成员。曾经在西雅图的华盛顿大学担任客座教授。然后在伯尔尼和维也纳任教。1968-7-1年担任欧洲核子研究中心理论部主任。发表了200多篇科学论文，获得了许多国际奖项，包括1967年的Eötvös奖、Erwin Schrödinger奖、Max Planck奖章、布拉迪斯拉发夸美纽斯大学的荣誉博士学位，以及国际数学物理协会的Henri Poincare奖。瑟林的z大爱好是音乐，这里尤其是风琴和作曲。
