You'll taste/smell: : Barbaresco is the Queen ofItalian Wines. The main difference with Barolo (theKing) is that the Nebbiolo grapes ripen earlier in thisregion due to the maritime influence and loweraltitudes. This results in softer tannins and fruitierwines. This Barbaresco has an intense ruby redcolor, to the noseit has both fruity and floral notesthatgO from the ripe red fruit to fine herbs. Soft,tasty, velvety at the same time, leaves on the tastebuds a note of sweetness and roundness typical ofripe grapewith a slightly dry and astringent closurethat distinguishes the Nebbiolo.
Good to have it with: Barbaresco works withtraditional Piedmont cuisine like brasato al Barolo(beef braised in Barolo) or tajarin (egg noodles)topped with butter sauce and the region's whitetruffles. It also pairs brilliantly with a variety of otherdishes, including pasta dishes topped with dense,savory tomato sauces and four-cheese gnocchi.
Best to have it: 649F, 180C. Decant and let it breathefor 30-45 minutes
