该书分为角色设定与地点设定两大部分，包含山姆·布里吉斯、亚美莉等主要人物设定图，中央结点城、冥滩等场景概念稿，以及末日准备者定居点等未采用场景草图。美术总监新川洋司延续《潜龙谍影》系列视觉风格，通过线条勾勒兼具未来感与实用性的设计，展示搁浅体（BT）从抽象到具象的迭代过程。书中收录早期概念图与设定对比、开发笔记及未实装载具设计。
