Matthew Barney (b. 1967) is celebrated for his cinematic work, including the Cremaster Cycle (1994–2002), River of Fundament (2014), and Redoubt (2019). This two-volume publication, housed in a slipcase, serves as the definitive companion to his five-channel video installation SECONDARY, which premiered in 2023 and toured internationally. The plot revolves around a 1978 football accident that left Darryl Stingley paralyzed, an event that remained seared in the minds of American fans, including Barney himself.
