RIVIERE DU MÂT is a French rum produced in Reunion Island. The island is a historic French rum producer, the sugar canes plantations dating back to the beginning of the 19th century.

Created in 1886, RIVIÈRE DU MÂT is one of the oldest distilleries still in activity on the island. Located at the heart of the Indian Ocean, the distillery of RIVIERE DU MÂT was named after a legend: A ship sailing around the island was wrecked in a river and sunk, with only its mast still visible. Years went by and the river was the designated as the « Rivière du Mât » meaning River of the Mast.

RIVIERE DU MÂT Rums are elaborated from fresh molasses and abide by the regulations of the Geographic Identification of Reunion Rums (GIRR)

The Rums from RIVIERE DU MÂT have been renowned since 1886 thanks to the expertise and precision of the Cellar Masters, who remained faithful to this heritage.

An eco-friendly distillery: The RIVIÈRE DU MÂT Distillery is the only one on Reunion Island retreating the wastes from the distillation. This eco-friendly process started in 2011 and we aim at depolluting 100% of the wastes in 2020, making us a leader in this field.
