首个霞多丽葡萄园始建于 1994 年。那一年，大卫・赫希（David Hirsch）在自家住宅上方一片多岩石、坡度达 40% 的地块上，开辟了 2.5 英亩土地用于种植。彼时他痴迷于巴罗洛葡萄酒（Barolo），原本计划栽种内比奥罗（Nebbiolo）。但当时正为其威廉姆斯・塞利姆酒庄（Williams Selyem）采购我们黑皮诺葡萄的伯特・威廉姆斯（Burt Williams），直言大卫 “疯了”，建议他改种霞多丽（Chardonnay）。就这样，这片老藤霞多丽葡萄园应运而生。葡萄苗木插条源自乔・罗基奥利（Joe Rochioli）；1997 年至 2000 年期间，由威廉姆斯・塞利姆酒庄负责酿造；2005 年之前，基斯特勒酒庄（Kistler）接手了该地块的葡萄果实。2002 年，大卫在 12 号田块的一座砂岩山丘上，又新增栽种了 1.4 英亩霞多丽，该地块与老藤葡萄园仅一山之隔。这两片小巧的葡萄园共同构成了我们的庄园霞多丽产区，首款酒款于 2006 年推出。

霞多丽葡萄园总面积不足 4 英亩，产量极为有限，所有果实均用于酿造庄园级酒款。

酿造工艺：
2021 年份霞多丽采用直接压榨工艺，压榨后的酒液转入法国与东欧橡木桶（27% 为新桶）中进行发酵，且前 10 个月的陈酿过程也在此完成。酿造全程未添加任何酵母，酒精发酵与苹果酸 - 乳酸发酵均在桶内自然进行，期间不进行搅桶操作。陈酿后期的最后几个月，酒液带细酒泥换桶至不锈钢桶中继续熟成，最终不经过滤与澄清，直接装瓶。

品酒笔记：
2021 年为凉爽年份，赋予这款酒富含矿物感、清新且活力充沛的风格特质。闻香呈现青苹果、亚洲梨、核果花与柠檬凝乳的香气，酸度清晰且平衡，口感多汁而充满活力。刚发布时，果香略显内敛，如今饮用已清爽可口、令人垂涎，随陈年将进一步增添酒体厚度与风味复杂度。这款酒让人联想到出色的 2011 年与 2018 年年份酒，品质极具潜力。

The Winemaking
The 2021 Chardonnay was direct pressed and transferred to  French and Eastern European oak barrels, 27% new, for  fermentation and the first 10 months of elevage. No yeast  was added at any point. Primary and malolactic fermentations  occurred in barrel. No lees stirring was employed. The wine  was racked with its fine lees to stainless steel tanks for the  last few months of elevage. It was bottled without filtration or fining.

Characteristics:
2021 was a cool vintage, resulting in a mineral, fresh and  energetic expression of this wine. On the nose, the wine  showcases notes of green apple, Asian pear, stone fruit  flowers and lemon curd. The acidity is present but balanced,  and the mouthfeel is sappy but energetic. On release, the  fruit is a bit shy. Drinkable and mouthwatering, it will gain in  weight and complexity with age. This wine is reminiscent of  the spectacular 2011 and 2018 vintages.
