Gemma Merinowon the prestigious Macmillan Prize for Children’s Illustration in 2011, whilst studying for her MA in Children’s Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. She is best known for her award-winning picture book, The Cow That Climbed a Tree, which won the Oscar’s Book prize in 2016. Born in Catalonia, Gemma originally studied architecture in Barcelona and has worked in practices in Spain, Dublin, Tel Aviv and London, where she currently lives.
