The Napa Valley is definitely a capital-intensive terroir with Cabernet Sauvignon as its distinctive variety. Blessed with a cool climate and good soil drainability, coupled with abundant investment, the Napa Valley is taking off. Speaking of a cool climate, the Coombsville AVA was established 5 miles east to the City of Napa. Apart from Los Carneros in 2012, it is the coolest site where top-notch wine can be produced. This is also exactly where the production of Purlieu—the subject of this wine tasting—happens.

To appreciate the true character of the wine, Pudao invites you to join us on July 17th at our Wukang shop to experience the unique charm of wines from the Napa Valley. We will firstly serve a French champagne from the same chateau as aperitif to warm up your palate, followed by two Sauvignon blancs and three Cabernet Sauvignons.

This event will be chaired by Pudao Head sommelier Feifei Liu. Attendance is limited to only 12 seats and each ticket is priced at 488RMB. Place your order as soon as possible.

2010年，酒庄以PURLIEU之名翻开新的篇章。一位三料学霸，名为Julien Fayard的天才酿酒师在这片天赐良土上，以其20年的钛金级酿酒经验，亲自呵护种植与酿造，以最精妙的内力护送到每一瓶PURLIEU葡萄酒中，突破纳帕谷葡萄酒更加平衡的边界。

In 1999, Purlieu was established in the Napa Valley. Ever since then, each vine has been growing on the characteristic volcanic soil in this area, enjoying the cool weather and exquisite terroir, benefiting from the surroundings while embracing the arrival of the millennium.

The chateau started its new chapter of wine-making with the brand name of Purlieu in 2010. With two master’s degrees and an MBA, the wine-making wizard Julien Fayard applies 20 years of valuable experience to cultivate grapes on this blessed soil and to make each bottle with the utmost care and subtlety so that wines of the Valley can be ever more balanced.

“PURLIEU” 在古典英语中意指皇室贵族去“森林边缘”或“边远之境”狩猎的领域，象征着探索自然界的潜力、锐意突破新的边界，在创新与传承之间，在自信与内敛之间，在深邃与通透之间，到达更高的平衡境界。

In old English, Purlieu means “the edge of a forest” or “an outlying area” where the nobility used to go for hunting. It symbolizes exploring the potential of nature and breaking boundaries with keen determination to balance between innovation and tradition, confidence and restraint, depth and refreshment.

“Le Pich”于古印第安语中意为“黄金之鹰”，它是盘旋在葡萄园上空的老鹰，通体金黄，静处时华贵雍容，翱翔时灵动敏捷，就像Le Pich葡萄酒一般外观优雅，酒体充满生命力。

Le Pich stands for “golden eagle” in Wappo Indian. The vineyard is also visited by golden eagles circling around in the air. Stately and impressive while resting, agile and nimble while gliding through the sky, the eagles symbolize the elegance and vibrancy of Le Pich.
